On September 1, 2011, the Finnish-American Lawyers’ Association (FALA) gathered for cocktails in the Hotel Haven Bar in Helsinki. Benjamin W. Tuiskula, Esq., an American born and educated lawyer who recently joined White & Case’s Helsinki office, organized the event to correspond with FALA member Ceri Koski, Esq.’s visit to Finland. Ms. Koski’s practice focuses on U.S. immigration and she has assisted many clients in the Nordic countries.
The event also served as an introduction of FALA to Finland’s legal community. Turnout for the event was strong, with over twenty people in attendance. In addition to FALA members Ceri Koski, Esq.; Matias Pälve; Michael Ristaniemi; and Benjamin W. Tuiskula, Esq., the attendees included partners and associates from some of Finland’s leading law firms including White & Case, Castrén & Snellman, Krogerus, Roschier, and Peltonen LMR; lawyers from companies such as Nokia and IBM; law students from the University of Helsinki; Matthew Wood, incoming coordinator of AmCham Finland’s Legal Committee; and others.
